An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Manama. Third ranked BahrainAl-Ahli faced one of their biggest challengers Omani Al Bashaer . Host Al-Ahli (2-4) smashed guests from (0-6) 87-67 . Al-Ahli dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Al Bashaer 's 16. They outrebounded Al Bashaer 44-24 including a 36-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Elijah Thomas (206-1996, college: Clemson, agency: MSG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Ahmed Alderazi (172-1990) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Al-Ahli players scored in double figures. Al-Ahli's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian Slaven Cupkovic (205-1988) replied with 31 points and guard Basam Al-Busaidi (181-1999) added 5 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Al Bashaer. Al-Ahli maintains third position with 2-4 record having just eight point less than leader Qadsia, which they share with Al Ittihad and Al Arabi. Defending Omani champion Al Bashaer still closes the standings with six games lost.
